Bank PO Exams 2011

United Bank of India, a premier Public Sector Bank, invites online applications from Indian citizens for the posts of Probationary Officer/Specialist Officer as indicated herein below:

Eligibility criteria:

1. The minimum age of the applicant is 21 yrs and the maximum is 40 yrs.
2. A candidate must be either:  

• A citizen of India or
• A subject of Nepal or
• A subject of Bhutan or
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention to settle permanently in India 
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East Africa countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to all the above categories shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Indian Government. A candidate in whose case a certificate is necessary may be admitted to the interview conducted by the bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the Government of India has issued the necessary eligibility certificate to him/her.

• Relaxation in upper age limit

1. SC/ST – by 5 years
2. OBC – by 3 years
3. Physically Challenged – by 10 years
4. Ex-Servicemen – by 5 years
5. Persons domiciled in the state of J&K during the period from 01.01.80 to 31.12.89 – by 5 years.

• Minimum Educational Qualification for the post of PO is graduation or post graduation in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% in either of the two. 
• Candidate must have successfully completed a computer course of at least 6 months’ duration from any Institute recognized by Central/State Govt./AICTE
